These Coyotes Synchronized Skating Teams
began in
2002 under the direction of Jenny Thompson and Amy
Thompson, Co-Directors of the Coyotes Stars and Spirit,
and Julie Patterson, Director of Programming and Skating
for the Alltel Ice Den in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Their coaching experiences bring a wealth of knowledge
and expertise to the sport of synchronized skating.

Synchronized skating celebrates the “team” aspect of the sport of
figure skating and provides a great opportunity to make friends and learn life
skills of team participation, cooperation, presentation, and self-esteem. The
goal is to have each practice be a postive growth and learning experience. A
basic key to cultivating a team is having skaters who want to share the love
of the sport with friends while developing their own talents. The team is organized
each fall in preparation of the upcoming season.
Once a team is comfortable
with the holds, formations, and transitions, a musical
program is choreographed. Past teams have grown into
Pacific Coast Sectional competitors. Annual
performances include exhibitions and the Alltel Ice
Den Show. Competitive goals
are evaluated as the team matures in skill level and
capabilities.
