  • Sexual Abuse and Misconduct

  • Physical Abuse and Misconduct

  • Emotional Abuse and Misconduct

  • Bullying, Threats, and Harassment

  • Hazing

  • Willfully Tolerating Misconduct

U.S. Figure Skating's SafeSport policies and guidelines can be found within the SafeSport Handbook.

CSCA SafeSport Compliance
CSCA SafeSport Compliance

To ensure that the SafeSport Program is implemented in all U.S. Figure Skating member clubs, each U.S. Figure Skating member club is asked to designate a club board member to hold the title of SafeSport Compliance Chair. The specific duties of the club SafeSport Compliance Chair will include monitoring the SafeSport policies and procedures of the club; verifying that all of the coaches who are engaged in any type of coaching activity with any club skater are in compliance with the U.S. Figure Skating coaching membership rules regarding background checks and continuing education requirements; and serve as the initial contact in the club for persons to report suspected abuse, misconduct or other violations, and when necessary, report such information to U.S. Figure Skating. The CSCA Board appoints a SafeSport chair, as well as two other board members that receive the training each year to ensure compliance and the safety of our skaters.

CSCA Competition Locker Room Policy

To ensure that steps are being taken to provide a safe environment for all skaters, CSCA has adopted the following changing room policy for all competitions hosted by CSCA (including Cactus Classic):

  • Each changing room will be gender specific, and will be labeled. Because our competitions generally have many competitors with limited changing room space, we encourage competitors to use the changing rooms for changing only and to utilize other public spaces for other purposes.

  • The LOC will monitor the changing room areas periodically throughout the competition to ensure that competitors are abiding by the policy.

  • Only competitors age 12 and under may have a same-sex parent or coach accompany them into the locker room.

  • Coaches are expected to abide by the U.S. Figure Skating Handbook at all times.

  • Competitors, coaches, and chaperones will be subject to disciplinary action for violation of changing room policies or for engagin in any misconduct or abuse that violates the U.S. Figure Skating SafeSport policies.
