Congratulations to the coaches, parents, and skating
programs that supported all competitors on our Regional
Team in their quest for success. Thank you to all of
the volunteers that made this competition run so smoothly
and without whom the event could not have happened.
Special thanks to Patti Coyle, Bobbie Speranzo, Arlene
Razzano, Hal Marron, and Sue Magalnick.
 We
had an excellent turnout our Regional Team sendoff
at the Ice Den on October 2. New competitors received
their Coyotes team jackets and returning skaters also
received a nice gift from the club. There were good
eats and lots of team spirit! We have 49 skaters intending
to skate their best this week at the Southwest Pacific
Regional Championships. This is the largest team our
club has ever brought to this event -- and it's at
HOME! Check out who's on the team
and see their photos on the About Us page. Then come
to the Ice Den this week (Oct. 6-9) and cheer them
on!
New test dates have been finalized
for the next several months and can be found on the
Testing page along with the new
test form. Please use this new test form starting
with the September 24, 2005 test session. It reflects
increased test fees to help cover the increasing cost
of test ice.
We will be holding our annual Regionals
send-off for all skaters entering Regionals & Sectionals
on October 2, 1:00pm at the Alltel Ice Den. Skaters
and their families are encouraged to attend. Skaters
who already have a Regionals team jacket should bring
their jackets for a group photo. Location will be the
meeting room above Mountainside Fitness.
Several club skaters will soon head off to international
competitions. Danny Curzon and partner Katie Boxwell
have been selected to compete in Junior Pairs at the
North American Challenge competition in Kansas City,
August 25 - 28, 2005. The following weekend, September
1 - 4, Douglas Razzano will be competing against an
international field of Junior Men at the Junior Grand
Prix competition in Bratislava, Slovakia. Molly Aaron
and partner Taylor Toth have also been selected to
compete in the Junior Pairs event in Bratislava. Ice
Den training mates Tiffany Vise and Derek Trent will
be competing in the (Senior) Pairs event in the Karl
Schaefer Memorial competition in Vienna, Austria, October
12 - 16. The following weekened, Ryan O'Meara and partner
Jamie Silverstein will be competing in the (Senior)
Dance event in the Skate America Senior Grand Prix
event in Atlantic City, New Jersey. It is quite an
honor for these skaters to have been selected to represent
the U.S. in these competitions. Let's all wish them
a hearty Good Luck!
We apologize for the delay, but due
to an illness with one of the Accountant’s Husband
it was not able to be avoided. Thank you for your understanding

On
June 24th & 25th, 2005, 12 team members, 2 coaches, and 28 family & friends
attended the International Theatre on Ice Competition held at Leddy Park in
Burlington, Vermont. Activities included off and on-ice reheasals, a luncheon,
and an on-ice draw followed by a competitors party. With Lake Champlain as
their backdrop, the team made many new friends as they exchanged pins.
The competition began on Saturday with Opening Ceremonies,
followed by a Choreographic Exercise Event, the Novice,
Adult, Junior & Senior Freeskate Events, and an
on-ice Award Ceremony. Twenty teams participated with "Lokomotiv" from
Moscow, Russia traveling the longest distance. The
Coyotes Ice Ensemble's presentation of "Unity" placed
9th in the Novice division. At the conclusion of the
competition, the Ensemble and their entourage were
treated to a festive wrap party.
The Coyotes Ice Ensemble will begin recruiting for
the 2006 season in August. Skaters who have passed
their Pre-preliminary moves are eligible to audition.

Vicki Toback hosted a delightful evening Friday,
June 10, for family and friends to share memories of
her husband, Bruce, who died unexpectedly of a heart
attack on June 3. Only 48 years old when he died, Bruce
represented the club as a competitive ice dancer during
the 1970s, but is better known to us for his more recent
involvement with Vicki in starting up our club web
site and for producing the video from recent Ice Den
ice shows. Vicki and Bruce met while skating at Metrocenter
and were married for 27 years following a beautiful
sunrise wedding ceremony (they figured the early hour
would be no problem for their skating friends). Their
daughter, Ailea, has kept them involved with skating
while developing her own skating skills, and their
son, Dovell, has volunteered to finish Dad's edit of
the recent "Dreamskate" ice show. Please
join us in extending our sympathy and support to the
Toback family.
The new membership form for the 2005-2006
season are now available here.
Forms are due July 1st.
The Annual club dinner Sunday May
22, was a huge success, more details and pictures will
follow soon!
