Coyotes Ice Ensemble Medals at the 2010 Theater on Ice Competition
The Coyotes Ice Ensemble is a theatre on ice
troupe that blends Broadway and ballet on-ice to entertain audiences of
all ages as well as compete against some of the finest “Theatre on Ice”
teams in the world. Under the direction of Nancy Pluta and Miki Stevens,
the team participates in creating a free skate routine and choreographic
exercise each season. Ensemble coaches have a rich history in choreography
and performing in professional ice shows. For coach’s bios please

Ensemble skaters take an active role in community service. The team’s most
popular project is hosting exhibitions for underprivileged children.
Children from Save the Family, Family Promise, Autumn House and Chrysalis
shelters have been treated to activities that include a meal, an exhibition,
and opportunity to learn to skate. Team members also volunteer as “coaches”
during the Alltel Ice Den’s Annual Special Olympics Clinic & Competition.
The Coyotes Ice Ensemble aims to educate skaters in the performing arts as
well as provide them with life skills of team participation, cooperation,
presentation, and self-esteem. Each fall the team is organized in preparation
of the upcoming season. Members are required, at a minimum, to have passed the
USFS Pre-preliminary Free Skate test.
Performances for the 2010 season include the Alltel Ice Den Show in June, and the
2010 National/International Theatre on Ice
Competition in Troy, OH. In addition to rehearsals
and community service, the team conducts fundraisers to cover expenditures
for props, costumes, and travel. The Ensemble relies on, and is grateful
for, the generous support of their families, community and sponsors.
